義安影艺展一年一度的展出，不仅是要让摄影艺术爱好者切磋观摩摄影艺术，同时也营造摄影艺术家们交流情谊的最佳机会，为提升新加坡的摄影水平共同努力。此外，也可给年轻一代树立一个很好的榜样，启发更多的年轻人加入摄影艺术的行列。

本文化中心多年来都以提倡艺术与文化为宗旨，协助发展新加坡为一个充满活力的艺术都会。接下来的日子里，義安文化中心依然会通过各种的艺术活动，积极的推动国人对艺术鉴赏与追求，共同为社会增添一点美的色彩。

With the success of the inaugural show last year, Ngee Ann Cultural Centre is proud to announce the return of the Ngee Ann Photographic Exhibition (NAPE) - an exhibition that is dedicated to developing greater interest in photography by enhancing awareness of it as an artistic medium and encouraging photographers to pursue their creative endeavours.

Photography is an energetic and powerful process of communication as great photographs have an impact unlike that of any other record or recreation of important events. Capturing a decisive moment in the camera lens and knowing that you "captured the moment" is one of the most satisfying feelings a photographer can experience. Best of all, it is an experience you can enjoy in the moment and then relive again later with others. NAPE hence also serves as a platform for all photographers to showcase and exchange their photographic talents.

This exhibition is made possible with the support of many people. Thank you to all our dedicated advisors, organizing committee and participants, for making this remarkable event a success.

时光荏苒，转瞬间又是一年了，犹记得去年七月本文化中心举办了第一届義安影艺展，获得了各摄影界人士的踊跃参加，盛况空前。今年，義安影艺展能够继续的蓬勃进行，本文化中心感到无比荣幸。

今年，此展览呈献由168名摄影爱好者所拍摄的423件作品，题材广泛，不拘一格。此展能够交出如此漂亮的成绩单，各摄影界人士扮演着重要的角色。在此，本文化中心衷心的感谢大家的参与和支持。本文化中心也希望通过这项展览把中心的活动推向更高的层次并为我国摄影艺术事业尽点绵力。

Ngee Ann Cultural Centre (NACC) has made big waves in the Singapore photographic scene with its inaugural launch of Ngee Ann Photographic Exhibition (NAPE) in July last year. It returns this year with a stronger presentation of theme and quality, with the contribution of 423 photographic works from 168 participants. The avid response that we have received from the photographic community, especially from our new participants, is encouraging. The exhibits that we present to you have been through a vigorous round of screening. What we share with you this year are the best of the splendid submissions that we have received in this year's exhibition.

NACC is committed to the development of the visual arts; NAPE brings together Singapore's photographic arts and puts photography to the forefront. We are fortunate to be living in the age of photography's renaissance as we see our participants' works being articulated through a range of medium such as traditional negative, color slide and digital photography. With this Exhibition, we hope to give photography the exposure and visibility it rightly deserves.

I would like to acknowledge all who have helped in making this event possible. We look forward to making coming years' exhibition an even greater success and hope you will continue to join us in this truly worthwhile endeavour.
